Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from BYU!  This week for Family Home Evening, my family carved pumpkins! Ours was a cute puppy (: Even though I actually really hate carving pumpkins, it was pretty fun.  Then today I got another surprise Halloween package from Marmee!! I was so happy, its always the best feeling to get the e-mail that I've received a package in the mail.  The freshman 15 is seriously about to catch up with me with all of this candy though.. Then tonight was our ward Halloween party. Me and Erica went as birthday presents! It was really fun. We won the award for most original costumes. (In other news-SHE GOT A CAR!) My ward is seriously the best. Everyone came in great costumes and there was great food. Anytime with friends, food, and fun costumes is a good time (:

Be Still My Soul

I am so thankful for Sundays. College is so crazy and busy and its so great to have one day to remember what's really important.  Even though I was late to church and missed the sacrament..(whoops) I had a lot of great impressions today! The first thing that was so cool was before Relief Society started, the 2 girls that were teaching left the room together and I overheard that they were going to say a prayer.  I don't know why this impacted me so much, but I just knew that they had worked so hard on the lesson and wanted it to have an impact on somebody they were teaching.  Well they succeeded! I just love that I can find joy through my Savior everyday, whether it is a good day or a bad day.  Then later in the day, I was about to skip out on a Relief Society Fireside and take a nice nap, but I decided I better go.  Through a lot of the meeting, I was kind of wishing I would have stayed home and napped, but the last talk was really what I needed to hear.  President Rasband talked to us about the scripture Proverbs 31:10 that says, "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies."  He told us that the reason rubies are so valuable is that they are rare.  What makes me valuable is that I am rare.. And on a normal day I probably would have said that what I don't like about myself! That I'm different from all the other girls out there.. But the way he put it just made me feel so happy about who I am, because a lot of the ways that I am different are what make me valuable in the eyes of God.  Today was just a great day to take a break and calm my heart and mind from the craziness that is life and point it back to the Savior.

Life is good on Sundays.

College with my Best Friend.

So somehow I got lucky enough to bring my best friend with me to BYU! We usually do things like eat whole pizzas and krispy kreme and watch netflix. (:

The Freshman 15 is a real thing...

She has me obsessed with Greys Anatomy and Patrick Dempsey. Wow.

I'm really starting to love everything about this place, and I love it so much more because I get to have nights with junk food and greys with my best friend all the time.  She was making fun of me for getting a blog, but I think she'll have to love it now that I have a whole post dedicated to her (;

Life is good when I'm with Taylore.

My mom is awesome!

Happy Halloween to me!

Since coming to college, I have realized how much I love my family and especially my mom. Some days are really hard without them.  I miss Sunday dinners, cuddling with T.J., taking Nathan to Taco Bell in the middle of the night and great talks with my dad.  I also hard on days when I'm sad and don't have my mom to vent to.  But, lucky for me, she sends me packages like this! So when I don't have my mom, Dove saves the day!  She really is the best.  Getting packages like these in the mail seriously makes my whole week!

Life is good when I get mail from my momma (:

Life is good in Provo!

Hi, I'm Kayla!

I just started my freshman year at Brigham Young University and so far it has been great.

The football games are always a blast.

The friends that I have made are amazing!  We're always having so much fun and there's always something to do.  As my brother Nathan put it, if you're bored in Provo, you're boring.

Now that I live in Utah, I can go to the temple all the time! And I had the opportunity to go to General Conference and listen to the prophets and apostles speak.  I never thought I'd say this, but I actually really love living in this mormon bubble.

So these are just a few pictures to update you on my freshman year!  I am having so much fun (and sometimes get some studying done too). I miss my family like CRAZY, but I have lots of great people to keep me distracted.

Life is good here in Provo!
