Its almost February!

I LOVE getting mail! Getting letters and packages from people I love makes me so happy, especially when its from my Mom and Marmee!  It's almost February, and I got a surprise package with Valentine's from my mom to decorate my room so I did! Even though I am very much single, Valentine's day is always one of my favorite days. I think we're actually going to do a love week in our hall that week to help distract from all of our single-ness. So, happy February from Provo!

Another crazy week!

The days and the weeks are flying by!  I can't believe its already the end of January. It feels like I just left home from Christmas.. My days are so busy! But overall, I'm so happy to be where I am and involved in all the things I'm doing.  The weather has been super nice here, so Taylore and I had to take  a picture outside!  We also ordered Jimmy Johns and had it delivered.. It really is freaky fast.  So I think that that will probably become a regular activity!  I also got to go to the temple this week, which was a blessing.  I've been missing my family a lot lately, but NATHAN COMES NEXT WEEKEND! So I am so so happy about that (:

Moments That Matter Most

This week has been CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY!  Ah, I don't know that I could handle one more thing.  But this week was also awesome!  I had my first skiing class up at Sundance.  It was beautiful and so much fun.  I made new friends in my class, and I picked it up again pretty quickly.  It is just so peaceful to be up in the quiet mountains with all of the beauty surrounding you.  I love it.  Then on Thursday night (after class, skiing, and work!) Cady, Erica, and I went 80s dancing!  Its still my favorite thing in the entire world.  I wish I could have lived back in those days.

So, with everything that I have going on, I woke up this morning kind of having a melt down. It's so hard to keep up with homework, working 15+ hours a week, Relief Society, classes, and a decent social life. I was just kind of feeling like I'm doing an okay job at everything, rather than being able to focus in and spend the time I need to and do a great job at them.  It can be so easy to look at everything that's on my to-do list and feel so overwhelmed.  But, my Mom reminded me on the phone this morning to just take it one day at a time.  I was reminded that I need to focus on what's important, and not worry so much about all that there is to be done. So here is one of my favorite Mormon Messages that help me remember to slow down and just be happy! I live in a beautiful place with such amazing friends.  Even though I can get pretty stressed and feel inadequate, I love my life here! I am so thankful and am choosing to focus on what matters most and be happy. (:

I love to see the temple

Before coming to BYU, I definitely had my stereotypes about people who were from Utah.  I always said that after college I would never live here again, but now that I'm here I'm realizing that it definitely has some perks...like the fact that about 10 temples are within about 45 minutes driving time.  This temple is in Provo and is even walking distance from campus!  This past week I decided that I really needed to go so I had Erica drop me off and then walked back home.  I love that I have the opportunity to enter the House of the Lord almost any time I want.  The spirit and peace that I feel when I'm there is truly amazing.

In other news, I am LOVING my new classes.  I don't even dread doing homework, and I'm actually doing all of the reading. I've kept up on my new years resolutions pretty well this week, so hopefully I can keep that up.  I also got called to be the Relief Society President of my ward today!  Even though I am super nervous, I'm so excited and feel so lucky to be able to get closer to all the girls in my hall (:

I am where I'm supposed to be.

It's the beginning of a new semester here in Provo! I was so sad to leave my family in Ohio.  I cried all the way to the airport and hated saying goodbye to everyone again for another 4 months.  But now that I'm back at BYU, life is good again! Classes just started yesterday, and so far things are going very smoothly. This semester I'm taking both a racquetball and a skiing class, so its pretty much a party all the time! I'm also taking Mission Prep with Brad Wilcox which will be so amazing. In other news, I got a job! I started working as a cashier in the Cannon Center.  My first day was yesterday and I think I'm really going to like it!  I love my managers and all the people I work with, and I get to see and talks to tons of people while I'm working.  It will also be super nice to actually get some money saved up this semester.
So even though it was so hard to leave my favorite people behind again, I know that BYU is where I am supposed to be.  The opportunities I have here to learn and grow couldn't be matched anywhere else.  I feel so blessed and happy to be here and be a part of such an amazing university.

It's a Winter Wonderland!

SNOW SNOW SNOW! The Eddy's came to visit this week and just in time for tons and tons of snow. So my dad and I took them all sledding and we had a ton of fun.  I am really enjoying the camera Marmee gave me over Thanksgiving, so I went a little crazy taking pictures out in the snow.  I took a lot that I really love out there!  These kiddos are gorgeous and so much fun to take pictures of. I think I love being around kids so much because they have such a genuine joy and excitement about things as simple as snow that a lot of us lose as grow up.  Rather than having a fun day laughing and screaming flying down the hill, we tend to grouch about the bitter cold or the bad roads.  I'm so blessed to have happiness and innocence find me again when these cuties come to visit (:
